YouniqMail is a desktop email client for people who want a say in how their inbox works, how it looks and where their data lives.
Why does YouniqMail exist?
It started in early 2025 with a search for an email client that checks a few boxes. It should respect privacy. It shouldn’t send mail or other data through the developer’s servers. And it should let you organize email your own way. On top of that, it should look good: a beautiful, modern interface that’s a pleasure to use every day.
Very few clients made the shortlist. The ones that did forced a certain way of working, or simply weren’t customizable enough.
So YouniqMail was built to close that gap.

What does YouniqMail stand for?
Three principles shape every feature in the app.
Privacy first
Your emails, contacts and settings are stored locally on your computer. YouniqMail doesn’t own any servers for the app. The only one runs this website and its email tools.
No servers in between
The app connects straight from your device to your email provider. There is no YouniqMail cloud your mail passes through, because there isn’t one.
Built to adapt
Tags, flags, rules, shortcuts and a dashboard you arrange yourself. YouniqMail gives you building blocks instead of one fixed way to work.
How does YouniqMail make money?
With a simple freemium model. Not everyone needs the premium features, so you only pay for them if you actually need them.

What YouniqMail doesn't want
- Your email content. It stays on your device and never reaches YouniqMail.
- Your personal data for profiling or advertising

Who's behind YouniqMail?
YouniqMail is developed by Sven Hörig, a German developer based in Spain. The app is shaped together with its community: bug reports, feature ideas and daily-use feedback from the feedback platform and r/YouniqMail help decide what gets built next.
YouniqMail is developed with European, and especially German, data protection standards in mind.
